History

Touring exhibition organised by the Chinese Arts Centre. The exhibition profiled contemporary design by artist born or working in mainland China, focusing on five areas: architecture; graphic design; household objects; fashion; and ceramics. The exhibition looked at key designers focusing on their constraints and influences on their design practice.

The exhibition toured various sites in the UK between 2001-2003, including the Cranbrook Library, Kent, and the Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery. The Centre hosted the exhibition in the Spring of 2003, but it is also believed that the Centre may have previously hosted the exhibition in the summer of 2001.
