Installation inspired by a poem of the same name by Octavio Paz. Fine black sand fell through a broken light bulb suspended from the ceiling to a soundtrack played by a MaToChin, a cello like instrument from China. The artist used the work to explore the ephemeral nature of existence and the experience of finding oneself suspended in a moment between place, time and history. Part of the Centre's 30th anniversary programme.
