Solo exhibition by Malaysian-born photographer Lip Lee looking at the Malaysian Chinese community's relationship with mainland China.
For generations of the Chinese community in Malaysian, the phrase 'going back to china' referred to a death in the community. The phrased gained more significance to the artist after receiving photographs of his father funeral in Malaysia. The documentary photographs in the exhibition addressed the impact of the funeral ceremony on his family, his village community, and also investigate the relationship between modern day Malaysia to China - the homeland.
While based at the organisation, the artist also facilitated an children's photography engagement project.
