History

Pop-up exhibition which was a result of Cheetwood Primary School's involvement in the START Project which was held in the main gallery of the Chinese Arts Centre.

The Year 3 and 6 pupils worked with local artist, Daksha Patel, for two and a half months to create artworks in response to the Han Feng solo show at the Centre.

The works they developed included drawings the pupils had produced in workshops in response to touching old found fossils and bones, tasting exotic fruit and vegetables and to hearing strange wildlife sounds. The drawings were shown alongside fossils and bones used by pupils which were donated by Manchester Museum and the artist. The exhibition also included audio narratives developed by the pupils in response to playing with speed of mark making techniques and using the drawings as a tool for creating narratives.  The pupils curated each others works and decided where the works would be placed in the gallery.
