History

First Exhibition show in the new 'Project Space' at the Chinese Arts Centre.

Inspired by discount culture and positive psychology, Irrational Exuberance was an exercise in pleasure modest expectations and accessibility by New York based artist Christine Wong Yap.

Following her residency at the Centre in 2009, the artist became inspired by the aesthetic, symbolism, and the conceptual potential of the discount store culture in the UK and the search for happiness. The artist transformed the new gallery space into a colourful pop-up shop. all the artworks could be purchased by visitors of a reasonable price.
