Touring exhibition which was a joint initiative of the Arts Project at Lambeth Chinese Community association (LCCA) and the University of Essex. It looked at the growing group of artists whose roots were based in Chinese culture, yet whose aspirations and identity were focused within a European context. The exhibition displayed the work of 12 artists ranging from established artists to a younger generation of artists. Curated by Jeremy Theophilius, the exhibition toured Chinese Art Centre, British Council Antrim, University of Essex Gallery, and Firstsite, Colchester.
The touring exhibition also coincided with the Journey's West conference held on 21 October 1995. The conference, a collaboration between the Institute of Visual Arts and the Chinese Arts Centre, explored issues affecting contemporary artists of Chinese descent living in the UK and Europe.
Due to the size of the show its was displayed at the Centre in two parts: part 1 was shown between 9th February - 11th March; part 2 was shown between 14th March - 29th April.
