Scope and Content

Documentation of the performance  I Love You. What can I do to please you by Dai Guang Yu (2006 Nov 02) during the Vital festival at the Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester.

The performance, the opening performance of the festival, featured an artist writing text using a paint brush held in his mouth while two hooded figures 'lead' by artist via a leash around his neck. The work provoked the relationships of power between artist and audience to be reconsidered in that moment when the text he was writing became clear on the gallery floor.
