History

This record set brings together records relating to Chinese Arts Centre's involvement in the Space for 10 residency programme. Many of the records are actually held within their original accessions.

Space for 10 was a multi-site residency scheme led by the Art House at Wakefield.  The creative development programme offered 8 week residencies for 10 UK-based artists in various UK arts venues: Arnolfini/Spike Island, Bristol; Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester; Kettle's Yard, Cambridge; London Print Studio; The New Art Gallery, Walsall; Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, Sunderland; and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield. As well as residencies, the successful artists took part in professional development seminars and received one to one mentoring sessions.

The Centre hosted the residency of Alma Tischler-Wood as part of the scheme.
