Scope and Content

Records relating to the selection of resident artists for the second round of Breathe residencies between November 2004 -February 2006.

This set includes physical and born-digital records which have been brought together physically or intellectually to show the processes by which the Centre selected resident artists. Many born-digital records can be found elsewhere in the collection within the order they were originally transferred to the Archive.

In May 2003, the Centre put out an open call for its 2nd year of Breathe residencies which would commence in November 2004. The selection committee would chose three artists, one of which would be based in the UK. The committee also had to choose one project related to audience development and one studio based  project. The Panel comprised the Centre's Curator, Bryan Biggs of the Bluecoat Art Centre, and an artist who had taken part in the scheme.

The panel actually chose four artists to take part in the scheme (Shu Yang, Eric Fong, Pamela So, Stella Lai, and Ken Chu) which were held from November 2004-February 2006.
